Include an option to control any on-screen control with a hardware knob by simply touching the control and then use the hardware knob (mostly an encoder).
  • Add an always available button on the top or bottom row
  • Touching it will activate/deactivate "Focus control"
  • Now, when you touch any on-screen control, a border around the control appears
  • The value can now be changed by a, previously defined, MIDI CC of an encoder
  • While in focus mode, on-screen controls will not change by touch
This would allow fast, precise and tactile control of any parameter and avoid accidental changes when touching the screen.
This requires the implementation of MIDI feedback (see separate request) so that the encoder knows the value of the element.
Jog-Wheel like controllers would also work great for this. This would require the implementation of relative MIDI CC (see separate request).
Multiple controls should be allowed, so if i dedicate a jog-wheel and an encoder knob to focus control, i can use whatever suits best for the target.
